Weekly Meeting Updates 3/8/10

Jeff is “pushing ahead” in joining the new high-speed internet connection from the Space Sciences Lab down to the UC Berkeley campus.
Matt has been seeing success injecting synthetic signals into our raw data for the purpose of testing our search algorithms.

WEEKLY MEETING Updates 3/1/10

Main Team News: In addition to attending the American Academy of Arts and Sciences (AAAS) conference and participating in its SETI sessions, Dan gave a talk at Qualcomm in San Diego last weekend. He spoke with their engineers about putting SETI@home and other BOINC projects onto cell-phones.

Weekly Meeting Updates 2/22/10

Main Team News: Dave is working on fixing the slowdowns BOINC is sometimes giving youtube. Eric is addressing an error in Astropulse applications which duplicates signals. Matt is looking into automatic shutdown for database servers because temperature control has been an issue.

WEEKLY MEETING Updates 2/1/10

SETI@home is looking for graduate and undergraduate students to work

Eric is trying to steer database management away from Informix and
toward MySQL. He says this will facilitate data replication and smooth
out the learning curve for working with the database.
