The SETI at Berkeley group will now be having weekly Science meetings, and few (every other weekly) general meetings. Watch this space for science and server updates!
Dan wanted to use this meeting to outline general project goals for our SETI group this year.
On Janurary 10th, NASA announced that the Kepler mission has made the discovery of the smallest exoplanet yet observed. At at 1.4 times the size and 4.6 times the mass of Earth, Kepler-10b orbits its star Kepler-10 in a solar system about 560 lightyears away from our own. What's special about this discovery?
At some point in the last few weeks, you may have received the SETI@Home yearly donation letter. The mailing process for the donation letter wrapped up this week. We’ve raised about $35,000 this month, and the number is still growing.
Hey everyone, we’ve got the new servers, and the migration process is moving along! The BOINC database server is up and running fine, it’s the master now. In fact, it’s looking like we could be done with the big outage by next week, and at least start generating new work by that time. Never fear, SETI@Home will soon be back in action!
